1. Overview

CryptoHype ("we", "us", "our") provides a cryptocurrency information service available as a website and mobile app. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. CryptoHype is informational only and does not provide financial advice.

2. Information We Collect

• Account data: email address, hashed password, and optional profile fields you provide at sign-up.
• Authentication tokens issued by our authentication provider so you can stay signed in.
• App usage: watchlist coins, price alert preferences, and saved settings.
• Payment data: if you subscribe to a paid plan, billing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers — only a customer ID and subscription status.
• Device & diagnostic data: IP address, device type, OS version, crash logs, and aggregate analytics used to improve reliability and detect abuse.

3. How We Use Information

• To operate the service (sign-in, watchlists, alerts, sync).
• To process subscriptions and prevent payment fraud.
• To send transactional emails (sign-in, billing, security alerts).
• To monitor performance, debug issues, and improve features.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to train third-party advertising profiles.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of trusted processors to run the service:

• Supabase — managed database, authentication, file storage.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
• Cloudflare — content delivery and DDoS protection.
• CoinGecko & public exchange APIs — market data feeds.
• OpenAI / Google AI gateways — AI sentiment summaries from public news and social posts.
• Apple & Google — app distribution, push notifications, crash reporting on mobile.

Each processor handles data under its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum information required for them to provide their service.

5. Data Retention

Account and watchlist data are retained while your account is active. Diagnostic logs are retained for up to 90 days. When you delete your account, we erase or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. tax records for completed payments).

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EEA, UK, California, and similar), you have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data or update your profile.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children

CryptoHype is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and stored on managed infrastructure with encryption at rest. Access to production systems is limited and audited. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

Our processors may store data in the United States, the European Union, and other regions. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Mobile App Permissions

• Network access — required to load market data.
• Notifications — only if you enable price alerts.
• We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, photos, or health data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
